CJS 2016 with Birgit Koopsen................

This was a fun and interesting class. Lots of bright colours and (gasp) my own handwriting!!

But it was fun and very different for me as I like more subdued colourings in my work.
Doing the background was fun and messy with my fingers and getting those black drip marks was a little frustrating as I had no control over which way they went.

But I did it and I'm happy with the outcome.

CJS 2016 with Michelle Ward............

Creative Jumpstart 2016

I really should take on the motto "Don't judge a book by it's cover" as I had at the start of this lesson.
While it looked awesome and fun, I didn't have the correct products to do this as per the lesson, so used Glimmer mist, Bloom Spray and a Lindy's Stamp Gang spray. So they were all transparent and not solid colour sprays.

Now that I've finished it, I am happy with it and how it turned out considering my apprehensions.
I love the layers and how they take on some of the colour underneath and create new colours. I also love the texture that the sprays gave. The splotchy irregular shaped layers.

CJS 2016 (Creative Jumpstart) with Julie Balzar...............

Ooooooo! This was an interesting one.............................................

This was the inspiration............

And this is what I came up with...............

I really did enjoy that one, which I honestly didn't think I would.
It was pushing me out of my comfort zone and making me be more free and fluid with my marks and movements.

Creative Jumpstart 2016 with Rae Missigman........

Creative Jumpstart 2016 is an awesome class that I have signed up for again that runs for a month with awesome teachers that teach us so many things. You get a class every day!!!
You will find all the details here:  http://nathaliesstudio.com/

This first class was Matisse inspired, and a class taught by Rae Missigman. Absolutely loved doing the background of this. Really not sure about the flower. Looks too perfect and not 'painterly'.

I am looking forward to doing the next class with Julie Fei Fan - Balzar.

Birthday Friendship Exploding Box....................

This is an exploding box made for my daughters best friend for her 5th Birthday.

I used the Hello Sunshine collection which is nice and bright for a 5 year old.

The chipboard 'make a Wish' is a ScrapFX piece.

And the butterflies are punched out of glitter cardstock and glued to acetate to give the feeling of floating or flying.
When the box lid is removed the butterflies move about.

Thanks for visiting!!
And if you've made an exploding box, please leave a link in the comments as I would love to have a look. I am so addicted to them!

Wedding Guest Book (Project Life style) & a Exploding Box card

I had a girlfriends wedding last month and offered to do her Guest Book.
I went with a Project Life Mini Album and a Project Life Wedding Mini Kit.
I added the journal cards to the album for the guests to write on at the Reception and added little touches of silver through out the album with embellishments. Such as silver skeleton leaves, silver painted wood hearts, silver doily paper etc.
I loved the way it turned out and so did the Bride.

I also made an exploding box card for the Bride and Groom to give to them on the day.

Inside was two layers of pockets for the tags and a wedding cake in the middle.
On the pockets I put the details of the day and special love/marriage quotes. I didn't cover every pocket with quotes as the other pockets will have special photos of the day which I took.

I used various textured papers inside to line the pockets.......

Now that the wedding has passed, I need to get the tags back off her and put on them photos of the day that I took.

I'm back..........busy time of the year!

Christmas...........New Year.............School holidays.............looking for a job...............new year doctors appts.................busy! busy! busy!

I've been busy over the Christmas break with Let's December Daily which has been so much fun.
I have done December Daily albums for the last 5 years and last year was my first year of doing it in a Project Life style type of album. It was fun and I really enjoyed doing it in this style.
There are 3 other girls on the Design Team at Let's December Daily and we all had different ideas and ways of doing our albums.
So pop on over to see what we got up to with our albums!

We've also enjoyed our holidays at our cabin, so that has taken up a lot of time. Lots of very hot days to sit down by the water and relax.

This week because of the temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius over 4 days, I have spent a lot of time inside and scrapping. A girlfriend came over and we scrapped the day away while the kids played in the pool.
So these 3 pages are what I achieved over the week. My first 12x12 traditional pages for 12 months since I became addicted to Project Life.

This was the very first page that I attempted with a handmade washi tape feather. I am loving feathers at the moment.

Another feather. This time cut out of vellum, scored in the lines for detail and dipped in gold embossing powder.

I'm off to a retreat at the end of February and hope to catch up with my Project Life 2014 album and do some more pages.

December Daily 2013 with Lets December Daily.............

Its Christmas time!!! Time for me to start playing in my December Daily album.
This will be my 5th album and each year I love it more and more!!! Plus we love looking back on the older ones.
This year, because I am now doing Project Life, I've decided to do it Project Life style mixed in with a bit of my traditional styles of December Daily.

This is what I've started with.............

These are SOME of the embellishments I plan to use.

If you want to see the end result of the cover and the first day's pages and for more inspiration and a further look at all 4 stylists process of creating their album, pop on over to Let's December Daily...................

And check out the rest of what I have done with my cover and pages. Just click on this Project Life Pic......

Back in time......2012 December Daily

Just a little show and tell of my December Daily from last year.

A pretty simple book with covers that I made myself, painted, covered, decorated and glitzed up to be my final product. I used the colours Blue, Red, White and green.
With it only finished later on this year (as I ran out of time) it ended up being pretty simple and bare compared to all my other December Daily albums. This is my 4th album.
The cover consisted of all things I love and use when I scrap. Doily's, paint, raw cardboard, tearing, and glass glitter.

Lots of doily love on the cover.

The papers were Fancy Pants.

I have a mix of acetate (clear transparency) pages and normal patterned papers in all differing sizes.
